big*B I'll never forget my first Dinosaur Jr record. There was a small punk store in the middle of nowhere. One day the distributor finally came with fresh pressing in his luggage. Shortly after, Mascis shouted "What is it? Who is it?Where is it?" against a distorted wall of guitars; fantastic! 34 years later, Mascis, Barlow + Murph are still working their way through the friction between a lot of feedback, distortion + extreme vol, as well as wonderful melancholic vocal melodies; and that's perfect! Favorite track: Garden.

Richard Thomas First track, classic Dinosaur Jr, soaring guitars and thumping drums, groaning vocals.

By track 3, I was as bored by this album as J Mascis sounds.

Track 5, Garden, sung by Lou Barlow, the high point for me.
